Laboratory Services
The hospital has a well-equipped in-house laboratory with experienced, full time lab staff. This facility prides itself in rapid and accurate results to support the veterinary staff in making informed diagnoses and decisions. Speed is often of the essence when emergencies walk through our doors.
A variety of tests can be performed on a daily basis. These include comprehensive blood profiles, cytology, microbiology and parasitology. The faecal worm egg counts we do routinely, give our clients valuable information about the parasite burdens of their horses.
We have specialised equipment to allow on-site preparation of autologous conditioned serum samples and platelet-rich plasma, which can then be injected into joints or tendons of lame horses.
Any test that cannot be performed on-site, will be referred to an appropriate laboratory for further analysis.
