Equine Externship

 EQUINE EXTERNSHIP OF 4 WEEKS DURATION

• Temporary position of 4 weeks designed to offer experience in equine medicine and surgery to veterinary students.
• Self catering accommodation is provided on site. You are responsible for your own meals, cooking and cleaning. Pets not permitted.
• Proper attire at the hospital is required. Scrubs are provided for surgery.
• No salary is provided
• The extern's responsibilities are to assist the interns, surgeons and staff.  Your time will be spent at the equine hospital.  Assistance with in-patient treatments, examinations, radiography and laboratory work will be encouraged.  You will be able to observe out-patient examinations and assist in ultrasounds, videoendoscopy, bone scans and opportunities to participate in surgeries will be provided.
• You should be prepared to be available for after-hours emergency work. 
• The externship may lead to an internship.
