Shockwave Therapy
Shockwaves are high frequency sound waves , produced by a specialised probe focused on damaged tissue to stimulate healing. This was originally used in human medicine for resolution of kidney stones and non union fractures but has now found its way into the equine medicine field. There have been successful outcomes in treating various conditions in a whole range of injuries in various athletic disciplines.

The procedure is usually performed under light sedation , takes approximately 15 - 20 minutes, and usually 3 treatments are carried out 2 - 3 weeks apart depending on the condition being treated.
